Carly & Omid’s Buttermilk Falls Inn wedding took place on a beautiful summer day in Milton, New York. Located in New York’s Hudson Valley, Buttermilk Falls Inn is a beautiful 75-acre estate and features a world-class spa, a farm-to-table restaurant, an organic fruit and vegetable garden, gorgeous walking trails, and an animal rescue sanctuary. You definitely feel at one with nature as you take in the refreshing sights and smells. As a Hudson Valley wedding photographer, Buttermilk Falls Inn easily makes my list of favorite wedding venues. I was so excited to return here and capture another breathtaking and unique wedding. Carly and Omid’s summertime wedding was a delight.
Carly chose a subdued bouquet that blended beautifully with her surroundings. The florals throughout the venue added a festive pop of color. We were able to wander around the Buttermilk Falls property and find secluded backdrops that were lush with plants and flowers in full summer bloom. Omid is Persian and wanted to incorporate some elements that were meaningful to him from his Persian culture. The couple chose to have a Sofreh Aghd, an important element of a traditional Persian ceremony. The Sofreh Aghd represents blessings in the couple’s new life together through symbolic items on a wedding table spread. What a privilege it was as a Hudson Valley wedding photographer to capture this blending of two lives and cultures.
After the picturesque outdoor Buttermilk Falls Inn wedding ceremony, the reception took place in full summer style — under a large wedding tent. The rustic, wooden tables, decorated by Linda Baldwin, were brightened by summer blooms. Everyone enjoyed the menu of summery appetizers and drinks. It was a beautiful wedding day in Hudson Valley!
